Lyle E. Doty, 74, of Braintree, a retired Army Lieutenant colonel, died Tuesday in South Shore Hospital, Weymouth, after a long illness.
Born in Adel, Iowa, Mr. Doty was a graduate of Drake University, Des Moines, Iowa. He entered the Army during World War II and retired from active duty in 1963.
A resident of Braintree for the past 29 years, he also maintained a summer home in Alton Bay, N. H., for the past 35 Years.
Mr. Doty leaves his wife, Constance G. (Risegart-Gai); a daughter, Constance J. of Brighton; a brother, Richard of Deshler, Neb.; a sister, Dorothy Waugh of Council Bluffs, Iowa; and sever Nieces and nephews.
