Ruth K. (Miller) Stauffer, 87, of Lititz, formerly of Redwood Dr., Lancaster, died Friday, February 10, 2006, at Landis Homes where she had been residing since 1993.
Born January 7, 1919, in Lancaster County, she was the daughter of the late Ira Z. and Alice (Kraybill) Miller.
She was married to the late Benjamin G. Stauffer in 1963. She was in the 1951 graduating class of LGH School of Nursing, and the 1962 graduating class of Elizabethtown College. She was also a missionary nurse in Shirati Hospital, Tanzania, for six years, and she along with her husband owned and operated the Village Vista Nursing Home on Benmar Dr. in Lancaster where she was administrator from 1965 to 1981. She was an active member of Millersville Mennonite Church.
She will be lovingly missed by her step family consisting of: one daughter, B. Winona, married to Franklin H. Kreider; three sons, J. Robert, husband of Evelyn (Buckwalter) Stauffer, LaMar E. husband of Kathryn (Mann) Stauffer, and B. Leon married to Nancy (Shenk) Stauffer. There are 15 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and two great-greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by a great-grandson and a sister, Laura K. Gish.
Funeral Services will be held at the Millersville Mennonite Church, 437 Manor Avenue, Millersville, Pa. on Tuesday, February 14, 2006 at 10 a.m. with Pastor Delbert L. Kautz and Bishop Abram H. Charles officiating. Interment will be in the Millersville Mennonite Cemetery, Millersville, Pa. Friends may call at the Landis Homes EAST Bethany Chapel, 1001 E. Oregon Road, Lititz, Pa. on Monday evening between 6 and 8 p.m. and also at the church on Tuesday between 9 and 10:00 a.m. Kindly omit flowers.
