Mountain Pine - Elva Ellen Lynch, 96, of Mountain Pine, died December 22, 1997, in a local nursing home. She was born October 18, 1901, at Crystal Springs, Arkansas, to Solomon and Lila Hagler Tucker and spent most of her life in Garland County. She was a homemaker and a member of Cedar Glades Baptist Church for 63 years.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest Lynch; four sons, James Lynch, Joe Sol Lynch, Eugene Lynch and Thomas Lynch.
She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Tucker and Pauline Lynch, Due and Dorothy Lynch of Mountain Pine, and Pat and Shirley Lynch of Salem, Arkansas; three daughters and sons-in-law, Lila Belle McGovern of Albany, Oregon, Susie and Haskell Fryar and Rosa and Joe Ford, all of Hot Springs; two daughters-in-law, Leta Graves Lynch of Lebanon, Oregon, and Freida Small Lynch of Hot Springs; 21 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; and one sister-in-law, Delphia Tucker of San Jose, California.
Visitation will be 1 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, December 24, 1997, at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, December 26, 1997, at Mountain Valley Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Scott and the Rev. Curtis Stillwell officiating.
Burial will be at Mountain Valley Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Louis Lynch, Dan Lynch, Joe Lynch, Kevin Lynch, Tommie Fryar, Ernie Fryar, Chris Fryar, Tim Ford, Greg Ford and Benjie Lynch.
Honorary pallbearers include Lucille Snider, Elaine Emory, Lu Carter, Virgie Barfield, Gary Story, Milton Bates, Troy Tucker, Jess Ross, Dick Thornton and staff of second floor of Rosewood Nursing Home.
