ADSITT [sic, ADSIT], NELSON.—Age, 18 years. Enlisted at Potsdam, to serve three years, and mustered in as private, Co. G-, December 17, 1861; transferred to Co. G, Ninety-sixth Infantry, December 1, 1864; also borne as Nelson N. Asid and Adsit.

Hopkinton

Nelson Adsit dropped dead in the barn of I. B. [sic, I. R.] Hopkins, of heart trouble on Saturday morning, March 24th. He had gone there for a load of hay and had just ascended the ladder when he fell. It was a great shock to his family. He leaves a wife and two sons, Leon, who was at home and Carroll, who was East, but came home on Monday, March 26th. The funeral was held at the church on Wednesday, Rev. Mr. Took, of Nicholville, officiating. Mr. Adsit was 56 years of age. He had been married twenty-two years. He will be greatly missed in his family and by his many friends. Mrs. Adsit and her sons, Carroll and Leon, wish to express their thanks to their friends and neighbors, for their kindness during their trouble also for flowers.
