Ruby I. Dearing Sisson, 78, of Salem, died Tuesday, April 11, 1995, in Lewis Gale Hospital. She was a longtime member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Elmore Sisson. Survivors include two daughters, Linda Kay George, Wanda Sue and husband, Douglas N. Hale, all of Salem; grandchildren, Brian D. Hale, Amy N. Hale, P. I. George; sister, Edna D. Anderson; stepsister, Louise Spencer; stepbrothers, David R. Meador, Carper Meador; brother-in-law, Harvey and his wife, Thelma Sisson; sisters-in-law, Norma Sisson, Pauline Dearing Turner. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. in the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel, Salem, with the Rev. Charles Watkins and Rev. Billy E. White Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Tabernacle Baptist Church. (Roanoke Times, 12 Apr 1995)
