Edna O. Junker, 87, of Heritage Manor in Minonk, formerly of Varna, IL, died at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, August 28, 1997, at St. James Hospital in Pontiac, IL.
Born May 24, 1910 in Varna to Reinhardt H. and Otillie M. Schwanke Petrich, she married Ernest P. Junker on June 10, 1931 in Varna, IL. He died February 23, 1996.
Her parents and her stepmother, Frieda Fecht Petrich, also preceded her in death. Surviving are two sons, Ronald of Varna and Darrel of Toluca; one daughter, Mrs. Floyd (Marilyn) Palm; one sister, Mrs. Emery (Helen) Johnson of Toluca; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was a licensed practical nurse at Rest Haven Home in Wenona and later at St. Mary's Hospital in Streator. She last worked at St. Joseph Nursing Home in Lacon.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Varna and its Ladies Aid Society.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at her church. The Rev. Peter Glock will officiate.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Lenz Memorial Home in Lacon and one hour before services at the church.
Burial will be in Lacon Cemetery, Lacon, IL.
Memorials may be made to her church or to Varna Ambulance.
