Margaret was the daughter of Jacob (Fluck) Flook (2 March 1698 in Germany-21 Feb. 1777 in Middletown) and Barbara ?. She was one of nine children. Her siblings were: Anna Barbara (1763), Elizabeth (abt. 1767), Esther (abt. 1766), Jacob (1760), John Henry (1759), John Peter (1774), Mathias (1764), and Sarah Magdalena (abt. 1758). Margaret was confirmed on 30 June 1770 at the Evangelical Reformed Lutheran Church in Middletown, Frederick, Maryland.
Margaret married (Johannes Lang) John Long (1754-1843) on 16 June 1776 in the Evangelical Reformed Lutheran Church, Middletown, Frederick, Maryland. John & Margaret had eight children. They were: Barbara (1777), Elizabeth (1779), Mary Magdalena (1781), Margaret (1784), John Jr. (1787), Stephen Christopher (1790), Christianna Jane (1793), and Catherine (1798).
