Celina Augusta (Gast) Bourquin, 99, passed away Wednesday, September 29, 2010. She was born Feb. 9, 1911, the daughter of George and Mary (Lust) Gast in Lenexa, Kan. She was married to John D. Bourquin in 1944 and they shared over 55 years of marriage before John passed away in 1999. Hard work was no stranger to Celina and she had a green thumb that could grow anything, she was always so proud of the flowers in front of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, which she took great pride in growing and nurturing. She is survived by her son, Jim (Mary) Blaise; five grandchildren, Bill (Elaine) Blaise, Monica (Dan) Browne, Bridge (Dan) Shamai, Rita (Randy) Mathews and Molly (David) Allison; 11 great grandchildren; a sister, Elsie Casaert; brothers, Ed Gast and Clarence Gast; many nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Emil, Joe and Albert; and sisters, Maggie, Sylvia and Josie. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 13615 W. 92nd St., Lenexa, KS 66215. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the Church. Burial will follow services at St. John Cemetery, Lenexa.
