Elva Oleta Hale, age 90 of Sherwood, formerly of Belleville, died Monday, Sept. 20, 2010 at Sherwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born January 22, 1920 on Chickalah Mountain to the late Leonard and Euna Stafford Robinson. She was a member of the Upper spring Creek Free Will Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Loy Hale; two sons. John and Phillip "Randy" Hale, two daughters, sharon Holmes and Hazel Dennis; three brothers, Carroll, James and Chester Robinson; and one sister, Helen Robinson.
She is survived by one daughter Sheila Holmes of Sherwood; three sons, Allan Holmes and wife, Shirley, Milas Hale and wife, Sue of Louisiana; two brothers, Calvin Robinson and wife Barbara of Florida, and Donald Robinson and wife, Jackie of Nebraska; one sister, Donna Butler of Delaware; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday Setptmber 24, 2010 at the Upper Spring Creek Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Rocky Shelton officiating. Burial was in Mountain Springs Cemetery on top of Chickalah Mountain.
Pallbearers were Marlon Holmes, Philip Hale, Jay Hale, Joe Knight, Harlon Patton and Edward David.
Arrangements were by Cornwell Funeral Home of Danville.
