Davie Alvia Berry, 71, was found dead on the lawn of his Rt. 5 (McCarty Lane) residence by his wife, Lucinda, about 4:50 PM Sunday [April 11, 1971]. He apparently was stricken suddenly. A native of Scott County, he married Lucinda Jane Coryea in 1918.
Mr. Berry was employed as a carpenter by Paul Riehle, and was also a farmhand for Francis Albright.
Surviving with his widow are two daughters, Mrs. Louise Aust of Brentwood, TN, and Mrs. Alice Kieth of Chicago, IL; two sons, Lindbergh Berry of Battle Ground and Dave Berry of Dayton; two brothers, Kenneth Berry of Rt. 11 and Otis Berry of Seymour; three sisters, Mrs. Avis Carpenter of Pendleton, Mrs. Elsie Scaggs and Mrs. Vernie Sumner, both of Seymour; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
