He was born in East Troy, Jan. 1, 1896, and was married to Bernice Smith Feb. 28, 1925. He had been a metal spinner at Holtons for more than 44 years. He was a veteran of World War I, having served in the infantry, and 50 year member of the American Legion.
Survivors are his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Ellen McKenna of Algoma, Wis., and Mrs. Carol Pierce, Elkhorn; six grandchildren, a brother, Foster Tess, Mukwonago. Services will be at 2 p.m. in Murray Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Hazel Ridge Cemetery.
