Pauline Patricia Schilling, age 73, passed away on Friday, September 24, 2010 at the Guadalupe County Hospital following complications from kidney cancer.
Pauline was born on March 4, 1937 in Mobridge, South Dakota to the home of Martin C. and Pauline (Schlosser) Erck. She married Cornelius J. (C.J.) Schilling on April 23, 1959 in Mobridge, SD. C.J. and Pauline lived in many places including Mobridge, SD, Pierre, SD, Rapid City, SD, Sedalia, MO, Kennewick, WA, Eureka, MT, Langdon, ND, Albuquerque, NM and finally made their home in Santa Rosa in 1976.
Pauline was a member of St. Rose of Lima Parish and a member of the Catholic Daughters. She was an avid reader and baker, and worked as a nurse's aid in hospitals both before and after marrying.
She is preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Conrad Erck and Joseph Erck; 2 sisters, Mary Ann Miller and Lorraine Dosch. Survivors include her husband C.J. Schilling of the family home in Santa Rosa; her daughter, Sandra Schilling of Reston, VA; son Tom Schilling and wife Linda of Datil, NM; son Ken Schilling and wife Tanya of San Antonio, TX; grandson, Jacob Myron Schilling of San Antonio, TX; brother, Martin F. Erck and his wife Joan of Rapid City, SD along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Rosary services were held on Monday, September 27, at 7:00 PM from St. Rose of Lima Church. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday, September 28, at 10:00 AM also from St. Rose Church with Father Joseph Thomas, CMI officiating. Burial followed at St. Joseph Cemetery.
