Mrs. Sophia Bromley, passed away at her home on Court street Monday evening. She was 93 years, nine months and 14 days old. She was a member of the Nonagenarian club sponsored by the Grand Rapids Herald. She had been a resident of Otsego for a half a century. Was in good health up to 10 days ago when she was stricken with pneumonia which carried her away Monday evening. Mrs. Bromley was born in Washtenaw county, Mich., April 8, 1840. She has lived alone for many years, excepting that she has had some one to come in every day and look after her house work. Her husband, a Civil War veteran, died some time ago. She led an active life up to the time of her last illness, she pieced quilts and did other work of a similar kind, read some, as her eyes were quite good for her age, and was a constant letter writer, keeping in touch all the time with relatives and friends. She ts survived by two sons, Charles Utter, Pekin, ILL., and Darwin of Mountain Home, Idaho. She has two sisters living in Ypsilanti, seven grand children and seven great grand children. Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Pardee Funeral Home. Burial at Mountain Home cemetery.
