EKLUND, Hector
BATTLE LAKE, MINNESOTA: Hector O. Eklund, 96, died June 12, 2003. He was born August 18, 1906 to Otto and Bessie Olson Eklund. He was a retired farmer. He served on the school board and the Creamery Board. He was the oldest living member of Eagle Lake Lutheran Church, and served as treasurer and held offices with the Church Council. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, baseball, and latch-hooking. Survivors include his wife, Elsie Augustson Eklund; two sons, Steve (Teresa) of Portland, OR, and Don of Fergus Falls; a daughter, Eloise of Crystal; and his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Myrtle, Hazel, and Elsie; two brothers, Lester and Murphy; and his parents. Services were held at Eagle Lake Lutheran Church. Interment was at the church cemetery under the direction of Glende-Nilson Funeral Home.
