Eva's was the daughter of Mathias Braun and Catherine Jungels. Her mother is buried beside her.

Dec 12, 1963 - Algona Upper Des Moines - Mrs. Eva Thilges, 86, a resident of Algona since 1941, died Saturday afternoon, Dec. 7, at St. Ann hospital. She had been ill for two weeks. Funeral services for Mrs. Thilges were held Tuesday at 10 a. m. in St. Cecelia's Catholic church here, with Msgr. P.P. Gearen officiating. Burial followed at the St. Joe cemetery and Hamilton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Cyril and Gregory Thilges, Alvin and Leo Bormann, Robert Kirsch and Al Grill.

She was born Dec. 22, 1877 in Luxemburg, was married to Leonard Thilges Mar. 7, 1905 and came to Kossuth county that same year. They farmed in the St. Joe area for many years, then retired and moved to Algona. Her husband preeded her in death.

Survivors include a daughter Julia (Mrs. Lawrence Bormann) LuVerne; two sons, Emil Thilges, West Bend, and Lawrence Thilges, Bode; a sister, Barbara (Mrs. Joseph Eischen), North Battleford, Sask., Canada; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
