Services Held For Esther Luchsinger
Mrs. Esther E. Luchsinger passed away at 10:30 p.m. Fri., 5 Aug. 1983 at St. Vincent's Hospital in Indianapolis, IN.
Funeral services were held at 1st Presbyterian Church, Grundy Center, IA. on Tues. 9 Aug. at 11 a.m. Pastor David L. Nelson officiating.
The congregation sang "Amazing Grace" & "How Great Thou Art". The accompanist was Mrs. Jack Stumberg who also played numbers for the prelude & postlude.
Casketbearers were Dean Butler, Burton Butler, Robert Miller, Richard Anderson, Robert Thompson & Larry Feller.
Ushers were Donald Palmer & Michael Owen.
Floral arrangements by Mrs. Virginia Schultz & Mrs. Frances Sievert.
Interment Rose Hill Cemetery Grundy Center.
Mrs. Luchsinger was born 28 Feb. 1884 at Marcus, IA., the daughter of William & Rose (Russell) Poston. She attained the age of 89 years, 5 months, 7 days. She grew up around Marcus.
16 Oct. 1913, at Sioux City, IA. she was united in marriage to Clarence A. Luchsinger. After their marriage they lived around Sioux City until 1920, when they moved & made their home in Dubuque, IA. In 1962, they moved to Grundy Center.
Her husband, Clarence passed away 30 Apr. 1972. In June of 1983, she fell & broke her hip while in IN.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Winmore Class & Jolly 12.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers & 2 sisters.
Survived by 3 daughters, Mrs. Fern Kunz of IN., Mrs. Donald (Lucille) Butler of Dubuque & Mrs. Warren (Lois) Feller of Grundy Center; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
Engelke-Abels Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A memorial fund has been established.
