Rosalie C. Metzler, 82, died Nov. 5, 2000 in Lakeview.
She was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Thomas and Cecelia Gates.
Her parents died the same year she was born and she was raised by an uncle and aunt, Joe and Jane Shupe.
When 20 years old, she moved to Ashland and later to Lakeview.
Even later, she and her husband, Kenneth Metzler, moved to California, where she attended college and completed her nursing training.
For several years, Mrs. Metzler worked as a nurse at Hoopa, Calif., before working as a nurse in the general hospital in Ukiah, Calif.
After retiring, she moved back to lakeview in 1980. She then worked as a nurse, part time, at Lake District Skilled Nursing Facility for several years.
She was a member of the Episcopal Church and Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter No. 1.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Metzler of Lakeview; son and daughter-in-law, Dorothy Allin of Lakeview; grandchildren, Charles and Todd Allin of Ashland and Amy, Andrea, and Kenneth Allin of Lakeview.
She was preceded in death by a son, David Allin, and a granddaughter Julianna Allin.
