Andrew Lee Allen Jr. was the 5th child of Andrew Lee and Clarinda Knapp Allen. He was my 3x great grandfather. He came with his family across the country to Salt Lake Utah. They left Cattarugus New York sometime between 1833 and 1837. His brother Charles Hopkins Allen kept a journal of their lives and journey across the country. Gerald Ralph Fuller compiled a book on the Allen family titled: "Ancestors and Descendants of Andrew Lee and Clarinda Knapp Allen".
Came to Utah in 1852
Helped build the Provo Fort and the Mormon Colony in San Bernardino, California in 1855.
