Gertrude was the daughter of William Thomas Flanagan,Sr. and his 2nd cousin Josephine "Josie" Flanagan. Josie died when Gertrude was a child along with her infant sister, Georgia Beatrice, who died at the age of 3 months. Georgia's memorial # is 59081544. Gertrude was raised by her paternal grandparents William Elijah Flanagan and Amanda Rousseau Flanagan in Garth, AL. Gertrude married Robert H Wilbourn and they had one child: James Tally Wilbourn.
