Married J.L Fielding 19th June 1937
Children: Cynthia Ann and Alan John
Ethel baked biscuits for the local dairy down the street. She then worked at Howard Abbott as a seamstress, later becoming a cutter. Her interests were the Country Women's Institute and Royal Forest and Bird Society. She loved playing the piano, artwork - painting and traveling. Ethel had a little yellow Honda Civic which her and Marjory (sister in-law) spent a lot of time traveling around New Zealand in. She had a strong sense of family and always enjoyed staying with Alan and Carol and the grandchildren up north, or her very regular town visits to Cynthia and peter.
Ethel was a very generous kind lady who enjoyed giving her time to educate her grandchildren in all things practical, mowing lawns, lighting the fire, cooking porridge and growing fruit and vegetables, and recycling.
Later in her life, in her 70th year she developed leukemia.
Ethel was 71 years old.
