The funeral for Helen Margene Kinkead, age 87, will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 4, 2008, at the Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Steve Meier officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

She was born to Thomas Franklin and Nina Melvina (Perrier) Bolen on July 31, 1921 in Ochelata, OK, and died Wednesday, October 1, 2008 in Enid.

Helen grew up in Ochelata, and was a member of the Osage Tribe. Her family moved to Hobbs, New Mexico where she graduated from high school in 1939. On November 17, 1939, she married Louis William Kinkead in Lovington, New Mexico. They made their home in Hobbs, where they owned and operated Kinkead Food Market. She was a member and president of the Does of Elks Lodge. They later lived in Houston, until her husband's retirement in 1975. They moved to Oklahoma and then to Enid in 1983. The last ten years, she was devoted to helping her son raise his three sons after the loss of their mother.

She is survived by her children, Hugh L. Kinkead and wife Dorothy of Enid, Billy Frank Kinkead and wife Aurora of Amarillo, TX, Nina J. Hanson and husband Don of Enid, Louis B. Kinkead of Enid, Thomas Mark Kinkead and wife Phyllis of Amarillo, TX, and Jack D. Kinkead and wife Sandra of Cypress, TX; fourteen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and one great, great grandchild.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers, one sister, one daughter-in-law, and one son-in-law.
