Elmer L. Allton, 95, formerly of 1212 N. Benedict St., died Saturday, March 20, 2004, at Westmoreland Manor Nursing Home in Greensburg, Pa.
Born June 28, 1908, in Chillicothe, Mo., to Perry R. and Anna Thompson Allton, he married Frances Shafer on June 25, 1938, in Chillicothe. She died March 11, 1999.
He also was preceded in death by one brother.
Surviving are one daughter, Arlyss Meyer of Greensburg; and one sister, Martha Edwards of Colchester.
He worked in the shipping department for Hyster Co. for 22 years, retiring in 1975.
Burial will be in Chillicothe Cemetery.
