Elsie Elizabeth Billings, 92, died June 10, 1997, at Fort Scott Mercy Hospital. She was born Dec. 11, 1904, in Coin, the daughter of Christopher and Pearl Collyer Lilly. She married James L. Billings, Jan. 23, 1923 in Fort Scott. He preceded her in death, Aug. 26, 1986.

Mrs. Billings was an honorary member of the Oldtime Kansas Fiddlers and Pickers Association.

Survivors include one daughter-in-law, Norma J. Billngs, Lincoln, Ill.; two granddaughters; four great-granddaughters; one great-grandson; and four great-great-granddaughters. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Francis L. Billings and an infant, William Billings; two brothers, Cecil E. Lilly and Christopher C. Lilly; and one sister, Dorothy E. Lilly.

The Reverend R.B. Shoemaker will conduct funeral services in the Cheney Witt Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in the Mapleton Cemetery.
