"Walker, John, Sr. was born in 1770 and died on 17 April 1836. He was married to Sarah who was born in 1775 and died on 7 September 1842. He served as a Corporal
in the Fifth Virginia militia Regiment commanded by Colonel McDowell. Information on his service may be found at the National Archives in roll box 217, record 2719. Information on his burial may be found in source number two on page 29." War of 1812 Veteran Buried in Virginia by the Society of the War of 1812 in the Commonwealth of Virginia, 10 November 2009 by Myron E. Lyman, Sr.,compiler."John is the son of Alexander Walker (1718-1775). He married Sarah Connely on Sept. 8, 1791 in Augusta County, Virginia. They are the parents of the following known children:
