O. E. Mickey Laid To Rest.

Funeral services for O. E. Mickey, who passed away Friday night at his home in this city, following an illness of several weeks, were held on Sunday afternoon at the Methodist Church, and interment made at the Osceola cemetery. The Masons were in charge of the services. Rev. H. A. Taylor of Silver Creek, preaching the sermon.

Oliver Edwin Mickey was born in Polk County, January 18th, 1870 on a farm southeast of Osceola. He was the son of former Governor and Mrs. John H. Mickey.

His father founded the Osceola Bank in this city, and after the son grew to manhood, he too, took up the banking business. He attended the Osceola schools and was graduated with the first class in the Osceola high school in 1888. He also attended Northwestern University for several years, coming back to Osceola, where he was made cashier in his father's bank. Upon the death of John H. Mickey, he assumed entire responsibility of the institution.

On September 17, 1890, he was married to Miss Bessie M. Detweiler.

In addition to the widow, Mr. Mickey is survived by one son, Arthur B. Mickey of Laramie, Wyo. his daughter-in-law, Mrs. A. B. Mickey, one grand child, Robert Eugene Mickey, his step-mother, Mrs. Flora Mickey of Fairbury, Nebr., and several brothers and sisters.
