Minnie was born on August 3, 1917, in Louisiana to Jim and Eva Jones. She married T. C. Brown on August 2, 1940, and they enjoyed 66 years of marriage until his passing in 2007. Minnie enjoyed camping, taking care of her yard, and she loved to watch and cheer for her Dallas Cowboys. She loved the time she was able to spend at Wisteria Place. After relocating there in April of 2010 she said, "Why didn't I do this sooner?" She will be missed by her family and friends that spent many great times enjoying life with her.
The family would like to offer a very special thank you to her caregivers, Betty, Nikki, Bonnie, and Kelsey and to her special family of friends at Wisteria Place for all their prayers, love, and support. They also would like to say thank you to Hendrick Hospice Care for their loving care and support to her family before she made the journey to join her loved ones in heaven.
Minnie is survived by her daughter, Linda Shepherd and husband Ed; granddaughter, Dodie Van Vleet and husband Frank ; granddaughter, Tina May; three great-grandsons, Collin Van Vleet, Ricky May, and Nathan May; two sisters, Lavawn Hampton and Margaret Wimberly; one brother, Clarence Jones; numerous nieces and nephews; and her cat, Scooter.
