Born in Marblehead, she was the daughter of the late Marblehead Police Officer Frederick W. and Mary (Mahoney) Bailey. She graduated from Marblehead High School and received her degree from Radcliffe College. She had been a resident of Lynn for over 15 years.
Miss Bailey was employed by the United States Federal Government as a Secretary for the Boston Army Base for over 35 years and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Federal Employees Union.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews including Barbara Laramie of Lynn. She was the sister of the late William, Norman, Melvin, Richard and Dr. John Bailey and Alice Cyr.
Her funeral was held Tuesday, April 5, from the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn, followed by a funeral Mass in st. Pius V Church.
