Death of Wm. Porteous, Garfield Pioneer
Was Former Bank President, Farmer and Livestock Producer.

William Porteous, Garfield pioneer, died Monday night in St. Rose hospital at Great Bend after an illness of several months. He was about 92 years of age.
A native of England, Mr. Porteous came to Garfield when he was young man. For many years he served as president of the Garfield State bank and was engaged in farming and the livestock business. He is survived by his widow. Elsie, and an adopted son, William.
Funeral arrangements have not been completed. Announcement will be made by the Vernon Memorial funeral home.
