Mrs. Frances Trout Johnson, 73, Parkersburg, died Friday morning, May 2, at the Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. She was born in Newark, Wirt County, a daughter of the late Dr. Henry Clay and Lillie Mae Fought Trout. She taught in Wood County schools at Washington Bottom, Emerson and retired from Jefferson School. She was a member of the Wood County, West Virginia and National Retired Teachers Association. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Virginia Gustke of Parkersburg, a brother, Henry Clay Trout, Jr. of Parkersburg, and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, George L. Johnson in 1959; a brother and two sisters. Services were conducted Monday afternoon at the Vaughan Funeral Home with burial in the Mount Olivet Cemetery.
