First generation American born (Portola District), Korean War veteran of more than 50 air combat rescue missions including at least five over Soviet occupied territory; 38th Air Rescue Squadron, "The Grave Robber," a Grumman Albatross. Small of stature & meager of words, his life was one of quiet integrity; family and country were all to him. He served as a role model for all who knew him, touched lives in his easy manner and simple living, never desirous of more than what he worked for. He married Faye (Elsie May) Hudson in February, 1956, worked his entire life as a civil servant.

May this quiet, dignified family man who cast a very large shadow rest well. He inspired generations to be people of honor, to love their country and hold fast to obligations and responsibilities.

His ashes have been scattered in a location known to his only daughter. No false tears to shed for this gentle giant.

NOTE: I've had to remove photos courtesy of those taking them without asking. Please be thoughtful & ask, especially if the memorial is managed by family.
