Miss Ruby Chaney, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.T. Chaney, of east Monroe township, died in the Ellen Fitzgerald hospital Wednesday morning about 2 o'clock. She underwent an operation for appendicitis about a week before her death and has been in a critical condition since. Deseased was 20 years of age. She was a member of Mill Creek Baptist church. Surviving her are one brother, Johnnie Chaney, and four younger sisters, Autry Mae, Pauline, Grace and Louise Chaney, and her parents. Funeral services were conducted Thursday morning at 9:30 o'clock at the Chaney residence by Dr. W.R. Burrell, pastor of the First Baptist church of Monroe, and the remains were interred in the Williams cemetery in east Monroe township.
