He served in the Army during World War I and was a member of the Veterans of WWI of the USA Inc.; the W.A.R.P. and the National Association of Retired and Veterans Railway Employees, Inc. He retired in 1957 after being employed at the Western Maryland Railway for 39 years.
He is survived by one son, Eugene Bowers, of Williamsport.
