Mrs. G A Chilton, 84, believed to have been the oldest native of the City of Comanche passed away at her home at 706 E. Grand Wednesday morning at 4:00 o'clock, after an illness that had confined her to bed the greater part of the past four years.

Funeral services for Mrs. Chilton were held at the Central Christian Church Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock with the Rev. Robert A Jackson officiating. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Mrs. Chilton's nephews: William Chilton and Herbert Cunningham of Comanche, G.A. Wynn, T.C.Wynn and William Cunningham of Austin and Aaron Cunningham of Temple.

Mrs. Chilton who was Martha Susana Cunningham before her marriage, was born Oct 22, 1863. She was the eldest daughter of the late Aaron and Minerva Cunningham. She was the last of six brothers and sisters to pass away. She was married to G.W. Chilton on August 31, 1882 in Comanche and they were companions until his death here in 1911. Mrs. Chilton spent practically all of her life in Comanche with the exception of about three years in Dublin being a member of two influential and pioneer families of this section.

Children surviving Mrs Chilton are: Mrs. R T Reid of Comanche and Mrs. T.F. Smalling of Pampa. Also surviving is a granddaughter, Mrs. W.S. Hyde of Little Rock, Arkansas and a great-granddaugher Betty Sue Hyde. Two half-brothers survive; Joe Cunningham of Gordon and Lee Roy Cunningham of Temple.
Mrs Chilton had been a member of the Christian Church for many years.
