The funeral services for Mrs. Thomas Boggess, who died last Saturday [May 19, 1906], were held at the Christian church Monday at 11 a.m.. Rev. H. M. Brooks, of Paris, officiated. The floral offerings were many and very beautiful. After the services were over at the church a long procession of sorrowing friends followed the remains to their last resting place in Woodlawn cemetery. Jerusha Sheets was born near Paris, Ill., Jan. 5, 1841; died May 19, 1906, aged 65 years, 2 months an 10 days. She was married to Thomas Boggess, Jan. 9, 1860. To them were born seven children, of whom four survive her, to-wit: Joseph, Letticia, Calvin, and Matilda and ten grandchildren; also an invalid husband, four sisters and one brother are left to mourn her loss.

She became a member of the Church of Christ twenty-four years ago, and from that day to the call to a higher life, her life had been that of a consistent Christian. In the midst of many vicissitudes her faith remained unshaken when the call came. She was ready, her memory to a blessed heritage for her children.

The family wish to exited their heartfelt thanks to their many friends for acts of kindness and sympathy during the long illness and death of their dear wife and mother respectively. (Danville Daily Democrat, Danville, IL, May 27, 1906)
