Deceased Name: Eva Joan "Jo" Zurcher Monroe - 1926-2002
Eva Joan "Jo" Zurcher, 75, of Monroe, a hostess at Galley Restaurant in Decatur for 10 years, died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2002, at Woodcrest Nursing Center in Decatur. The Salamonie native had worked at Adams Central School in the cafeteria for 25 years. She attended Monroe United Methodist Church and was a Sunday school superintendent. Surviving are a son, Stu of Angola; daughters Vicki Magsamen and Penny Hinsky, both of Decatur; brothers Carl Pease Jr. of Salamonie and Arden Pease of Fort Wayne; sisters Helen LeMaster of Portland and Jill Garringer of Fort Wayne; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur, a brother and a sister. Services are 2 p.m. Sunday at Monroe United Methodist Church, Monroe, with calling one hour before services. Calling is also from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Haggard & Sefton Funeral Home, Decatur. Burial will be at Ray Cemetery, Monroe. Memorials are to the church.
