REV. GEORGE BRAY DIED LAST SUNDAY
Rev. George Bray, 89, retired Presbyterian minister who had held a number of pastorates in Iowa and Nebraska, died suddenly at his home here Sunday, September 11. He had made his home in this city 18 years.
Rev. Bray was born November 19, 1859 in London, England and lived for a time in New York City after immigrating to America. He studied for the ministry and served several congregations in the Sioux City area after his ordination.
His pastorates included churches at Akron, Ia., Grand Island, Aurora, Pender, South Sioux City, and Ponca in Nebraska and Sandpoint, Idaho.
Survivors include four sons, Aubrey of Omaha, Dr. Ellis Bray of Ponca, Ralph of Miles City, Mont., and Arthur of Edwardsburg, Mich.
Funeral services will be held at the Ponca Presbyterian church at 2 p.m. today (Thursday). Burial will be in the Ponca cemetery.
