Services for Lola Bell Rix, 80 of Lubbock will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Rix Funeral Directors with the Rev. J.M. Washington officiating.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Monday in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Big Spring.
Mrs. Rix died at 12:07 a.m. Saturday in Methodist Hospital after a lengthy illness.
She was born in Hagerman, N.M. and moved to Lubbock in 1946. She married Lewis B. Rix on July 4, 1935, in Midland. He died in 1952. She was a graduate of Big Spring High School. She was former secretary/treasurer for Rix Funeral Directors and Rix Life Insurance Co. She was a member of the professional women's club and St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
Survivors include a son, Lewis B. Jr., of Nacogdoches; a daughter, Ruth Guimbellot of Dallas; a brother, Merle Stewart of Big Spring; two sisters, La Verne Yeatman of Coleman and Lucille Collins of Big Spring; and three grandchildren. The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society or the American Lung Association.
