Funeral Was Held Thursday

August Aho, a respected resident of Blowers township and Sebeka for the past 46 years, passed away on Sunday, December 5, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Sam Curtis at the age of 70 years, 6 months and 1 day. He had been a patient at the University hospital, Minneapolis for five weeks where he underwent an operation for an abscess in the lung and was removed to his daughter's home in St. Paul six days preceding his death.
Deceased was born on June 4, 1867 at Alajarvella, Waasanla_ni, Finland and came to this country in 1885. He was married to Miss Eva Mary Haapasaar in April, 1888 at Nigaunea, Michigan where they lived during the first six years and came to Minnesota in 1891. They settled in Blowers township, Otter Tail county where they resided on the same farm for 38 years, then moving to Sebeka 8 years ago where they resided since.
Deceased is survived by his wife and ten children, namely: Edward, of Keewatin, Minn.; Mrs. Henry (Julia) Rydinki, of Sebeka; Mrs. Sam (Frances) Curtis, of St. Paul; Mrs. John (Jenny) Savela, of Sebeka; Arthur, whose residence is not known; Mrs. Arthur (Lillian) Stevens, of Hibbing; Mrs. Arvid (Eline) Peterson, of Sebeka; Elizabeth Ann, of Los Angeles, Calif.; Mrs. Ted (Aileen) Heino of Detroit, Mich. A daughter, Mrs. Frank Lind, died two years ago and two died in infancy. Seventeen granchildren and four great grandchildren also survive_
Funeral services were held at the Finnish Lutheran church in Paddock township Thursday afternoon. Rev. S. A. Krankkala conducted the services in the Finnish language and Rev. A. J. Stoskopf spoke in English and a large number attended the last sad rites held for a pioneer and respected neighbor and friend. Burial was made in the Paddock Finnish cemetery.
