McINTOSH, JOHN D., 74, of Newfield, died Saturday evening at home after a brief illness. John was born on Long Island, N.Y. and was a 42 year Newfield Boro Resident.
Mr. McIntosh attended the Catholic Schools in Vineland and was a Sacred Heart High School Graduate. He later graduated with a Mechanical Engineering Degree from the American School. John retired in 1988 with 40 years of service from the Kimble Glass Company in Vineland where he was employed as the Supervisor of Mechanical Engineering. In his spare time, he acted as a Docent in the Museum of Glass at Wheaton Village. He was very active with the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary. Having entered on June 13, 1944, he was qualified as a Coxswain, Flight Observer, Instructor and Vessel Examiner. His highest position was the District Commodore, 3rd District, Southern Division. Also he was a member of the National Staff for Personal Development.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years: Helen (nee Badaracca); one daughter: Colleen Nelson, Elk. Twp.; one son: John C. McIntosh, Montclair, VA and seven grandchildren.
The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 11 A.M. on Thursday in the Nativity Church of Our Lord, 2677 Delsea Drive, Franklinville, with burial to follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Newfield. Relatives and friends will be received on Wednesday from 7-9 P.M. and again on Thursday from 9:30 - 10:15 A.M. at the Pancoast Funeral Home, 676 South Main Road, Vineland.
