LAPOINT

Very impressive funeral services were held in the ward chapel Thursday, August 6th, for August Nyberg. The house was beautifully decorated white bunting and green vines. The casket was covered with many beautiful flowers, which was evidence of the high esteem held for Mr. Nyberg. The services were conducted by Bishop Jacob Rasmussen. The choir sang "O My Father." Invocation was offered by William C. Marshall. The choir then sang "Shall We Meet Beyond the River." The first speaker was Roy Taylor, he spoke of Mr. Nyberg being a close friend of his, having known him for many years, and always found him to be honorable. A. C. Thompson was the next speaker and explained in a very clear way the gospel plan of life and salvation for the living and the dead. A quartet consisting of Mrs. J. C. Haeking, Lavaur Mullins, IL Mullins, and C. A. Thompson sang "Jesus Lover of My Soul." The next speaker was President Calder of Vernal, who spoke very consoling and encouraging to the bereaved family. He also said that he had met and conversed with Mr. Nyberg and found him to be a man of high ideals with a kind and affectionate disposition. The choir then sang "Farewell all Earthly Honors." Benediction was pronounced by James Shaffer for Vernal. The pall bearers were his sons, Neldon, McCoy and George and his brothers-in-law, Geo. Kump, Jack Kump and Jacob Nielson. A large cortege followed the remains to the Lapoint cemetery where the grave was dedicated by William G. Caldwell.
