Christian Hanson was born in Rush River Township, St. Croix County, Wisconsin, August 6, 1868, the son of Velick Hanson and Anna Maria Hanson. He was baptized in Rush River congregation and in the fall of 1884 he was confirmed at Battle Lake, Minn., by Rev. Moen. He lived in St. Croix County two years and moved to Pierce County and lived there until the spring of 1883 when the family moved to Dakota Territory and settled in Bartley Township. In 1889 the family moved to Dover Township. Mr. Hanson and family have since resided there except for four and one-half years spent at Maddock.
Deceased had been ailing somewhat these last few years, and last fall consulted with doctors at Rochester, Minn. His ailment was diagnosed as cancer from which sickness he gradually failed. The two and one-half weeds he was unable to be up and around and endured much suffering. On Sunday evening, May 31, 1931, he passed away to his eternal reward.
He leaves to mourn his loss his wife, Carrie Legried Hanson, and sons Almer, Marven, Kenneth, John, Melvin, Harold, and Marcus; also five brothers, Tom Mathias, Hans, William and Andrew.
Mr. Hanson was endowed with a friendly cheerful disposition and had many warm personal friends outside the immediate community where he lived.
