He died from his wounding on July 3 at the 2nd Division, I Corps Hospital. He was initially buried in the Presbyterian Graveyard in Gettysburg.
He was later reinterred in the Pennsylvania Plot in the Gettysburg National Cemetery in Section B, Site #75.
