"Ray J. Campbell, 76, of Oswego passed away on Monday, May 11, 1998 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora. He was born on March 9, 1922, in Aurora IL, the son of the late Raymond and Olive (Burkhart) Campbell.
"He was self-employed at Boulder Hill Services for many years cutting grass at many public places in the area, and places of worship. For several years he was a bus driver within the Oswego School District. He was a member of the Class of 1941 of Oswego High School. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Aurora where he was a 'noted' coffee maker; as well as a member of the Homebuilders class within the church.
"Survivors include his wife, June (Sassen); a daughter, Mary (Wayne) Watgen of Montgomery, three sons, John (Penny) Campbell of Oswego, James (Judy) Campbell of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Mark (Denise) Campbell of Oswego; three grand daughters, Wendy Schmidt, Jenni Watgen, Sarah Campbell; three grandsons, David Campbell, Matthew Campbell and Michael Watgen.
"Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 1998 at 10 am at the First Presbyterian Church of Aurora.... Burial will take place at the Oswego Township Cemetery in Oswego.*** "
