Life Legacy
Margaret Hestel Campbell, age 95, of San Antonio, passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2006. She was born January 8, 1911 in Batesville, Texas, to Charles A and Mary C Brown.
She earned a BA and a Masters Degree in Education at Southwest Texas State Teachers College in San Marcos. During World War II, Margaret worked for the Army Air Corps at Deming Army Air Force Base, New Mexico. There she met and married Archibald Douglas Campbell. Following the war, they moved to Corpus Christi and subsequently, to San Antonio.
Margaret enjoyed teaching in the elementary grades in both cities for many years. She loved music and played several instruments. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers and two sisters. She is survived by one siste; and two sister-in-laws; along with 26 nieces and nephews and their families.
She was much beloved by her family and friends, and leaves many happy memories of shared canasta games, camping and fishing trips, family gatherings and travel.
