Harry Cross, 80, of Rt. 3, Greenville died at 6 a.m. Thursday at this home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Coker-Mathews-Peters Chapel. Dr. James L. Sandlin and Rev. Rupert Pickett will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Park.

Mr. Cross was born Apr. 5, 1894 in Cameron to S.P. and Elizabeth Paden Cross. He came to Greenville in 1920 and was a car dealer for several years. In 1923 he married Grace Carathers in Greenville. She preceded him in death on Apr. 24, 1970.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church as well as a member of Masonic Lodge, Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce and Pecan Growers Association. Mr. Cross was a Director (sic) of First Federal Savings and Loan Association and a past president of the National and State Pecan Growers Association.

Survivors include one son, Harry Cross Jr. of Greenville; two grandsons, Mark W. Cross and William H. Cross and one great grandson, Tommy Wayne Cross.

Pallbearers will be Herbert McGaughey, William R. Adkisson, Shelby Sinclair, Robert W. Williams, Harold Horn, and Paul Mathews. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. W.P. Philips and Mrs. Tommie Riley.
