Poland oil fields is phonetic of the Romanian Ploesti Oil Refineries that the 340th and 341st were bombing. The Tuskegee Airmen fighters often were protecting these groups as long as they were within gas range of the fighters. Jesse would write home about the courage of these fighters per contributor tsayrate.
