Mrs. Helen Dean Hawes, 76, of Nitro passed away December 25, 2009, at Hubbard Hospice House.
Mrs. Hawes was a member of Nitro Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Irene Miller; and her brothers Joe and Richard Miller.

She is survived by her husband of 59½ years, Mr. Charles ?Bill? Hawes; children, Charles ?Chuck? Hawes of Nitro and Kimberly and husband, Jerry Zimmer, of Mason, Ohio; sister, Dolores Duff of Ocala, Fla.; grandchildren, Jared Zimmer of Nitro and Ryan Zimmer of Mason, Ohio; and great-grandchildren, Aric and Benjamin Zimmer.

A tribute to the life of Mrs. Helen Hawes will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 30, at Gatens-Harding Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Jeff Hale officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Hubbard Hospice House, 1001 Kennawa Drive, Charleston, WV 25312.
