Julie Rogers, 89, of Morganton, formerly of Robbinsville, died Wednesday, Feb. 17, in a Valdese hospital.

A native of Cherokee County, she was a daughter of the late Ike and Martha Phillips Rogers and the wife of the late Wilburn Rogers.

Surviving are four daughters, Ruth Nichols and Letha Benfield of Morganton, Lorene Holloway of Robbinsville and Christine Holloway of Powder Springs, GA; a sister, Frankie West of Marble; 64 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 27 great great grandchildren.

Services were at 2 p.m. Saturday in Red Marble Baptist Church. The Revs. Howard Wilson and Bill Smith officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Townson-Smith Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
