Henry John Schroeder, age 93, of Lake Wales, FL and formerly of Crescent City, passed away September 4, 2010 at Dove Health Care in Lake Wales.

He was born on November 1, 1916 in Rice Lake, WI to the late August and Bertha Taden Schroeder.

He married Doris Tucker in Watseka on October 28, 1944 and she survives along with 1 daughter- Judy (David) Anderson of Frostproof, FL; 2 sons- Dennis (Sandy) Schroeder of Ladd, IL and Randall (Cheryl) Schroeder of Margate, FL. 1 sister- Leona Schroeder of Crescent City; 9 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by 1 brother-Edward Schroeder.

Mr. Schroeder was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a retired freight truck driver and of the Lutheran faith. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Sat., Sept. 25, 2010 from 1:00-2:30pm at Segur-Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka. Graveside services will be at 3:00 pm on Saturday, Sept. 25th at St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery in Crescent City with Pastor Joel Brown officiating. Graveside military rites will be conducted by Watseka American Legion Post #23 and Iroquois County VFW Post 7450.

Memorials may be made to Alzheimers Association.
