Irene Elizabeth Miller, 81, of Mill Lane in Elkton, died Wednesday, April 13, 2005, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg.
Mrs. Miller was born Oct. 2, 1923, in Rockingham County and was the daughter of the late Stephen Brunk and Mary Allen Hensley.
She was a lifetime resident of this area and a member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church. She had worked at Sancar, the Elkton Dry Cleaners and The Alliance Company.
On Dec. 23, 1967, she married Lawrence E. Miller; he survives.
Also surviving are a son, Gary W. Shifflett of Elkton; three stepsons, Terry Miller of Nashville, Tenn., Steven Miller of Ruckersville and Timmy Miller of Ocala, Fla.; two stepdaughters, Phyllis Jenkins of Asheville, N.C., and Norma Barb of Harrisonburg; a brother, Charles Hensley of Elkton; four sisters, Annie Hensley, Ellen Williams, Evelyn Brill and Louise Goines, all of Elkton; a grandson, a number of stepgrandchildren, one great-granddaughter; and a number of step-great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Alda Gunn will conduct the funeral at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Elkton Evangelical United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Elk Run Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at the Evangelical United Methodist Church.
